Tom Buckholz is an interdisciplinary artist. Hailing from the midwest, he got his BFA in photography from Bowling Green State University in 2005. Since then, he has generally stopped hailing. He has lived in Toledo, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Ann Arbor, St. Louis, Ann Arbor, and Iowa City.
i hate writing in the third person, but i’ve been involved in various Art Stuff in all those cities, like: live video projection/mixing, film screenings, gallery shows, residencies, music performances, gallery installations, and have made a few short films and no-budget music videos for friends’ bands.
i like using old hardware alongside new. exploiting the glitches and artifacts of various generations of technology, like video cameras or TV screens. using found footage from thrift store VHS tapes, mixed together with my own video clips and animations.
